Bessingby Park is a Ruislip neighbourhood favourite where families, dog-walkers and sports players share generous open green space. Together with the adjoining Cavendish Park and Pine Gardens, it offers two playgrounds, outdoor gym equipment and a range of sports pitches — a place to stretch your legs, kick a ball or simply take some air.

A greener, more resilient park
Bessingby Park has been the focus of recent environmental improvement. A flood-alleviation swale — a shallow, planted channel — was completed in 2022 to hold water on site and let it seep away slowly, easing pressure on the local sewer network while creating new wildlife habitat. During the September 2024 flash floods, the scheme worked as designed, helping keep rising water away from nearby homes. In 2024, Trees for Cities planted around 60 trees along with shrubs and perennials to form a “forest garden”, boosting canopy cover, shade and biodiversity.
